Can we please get a consistent policy on how to check Walmart+ digital receipts at the door? Every other day we’ve got a customer waving their phone around while AP or a greeter is trying to figure out if it’s legit. Some don’t want to hand over their phones (understandable), others think we should just “know” they paid. It's a mess, and we’re caught in the middle.
... read moreIt's so annoying how some employees get away with not following the rules. Some of my coworkers can take long breaks or leave early without ever getting in trouble, while others get called out for like the smallest things. It's so unfair and makes the rest of us feel like sh*t. The managers have to treat everyone the same and stop playing favorites - if one person gets away with something, then everyone should. It's about time they fixed this and made it fair for all of us. These kinds of things are making it really hard to enjoy working here for me, and probably for other people. We're all working the hardest that we can, so why wouldn’t we all be treated the same.. -.-

I hear someone on the walkie say, “We’ve got water coming in under the receiving doors.” I figured it was just some light seepage. Nope. By 4AM, it’s coming fast. Turns out a pipe burst behind the backroom wall. Within 20 minutes, the backroom was an ankle-deep pool. No one from maintenance was there, and management didn’t answer calls. So we’re out there in the dark, using boxes of old clearance items to try and dam the flow like it’s a warehouse version of The Day After Tomorrow. Then someone panics and says it’s near the electrical panel. Cue immediate freakout. We shut off what we could, started moving pallets, and eventually one of the team leads shows up looking like they just woke up (probably did). It was controlled by around 6AM, but by then everyone’s soaked, freezing, and behind on freight. I’ve had wild shifts, but this one? This one felt like it needed a FEMA response. Anyone else ever had an overnight just go completely sideways like that? #OvernightCrew #WalmartDisasters
... read moreCame in tonight expecting the usual overnight truck. Decent size, manageable with a full team. Except half the team didn’t show up. I mean literally half. No call, no show. It was just me, one other associate, and a team lead who was already tied up with claims.
We had to unload the entire truck ourselves. Grocery, chemicals, pet food—didn’t matter, it all had to move. Walkie calls kept asking for help in other departments, and we had to keep saying, “We’ve got no one left.”
Freight was so heavy we had to move pallets in pieces because the power jacks were down for maintenance. There’s nothing like pulling half a pallet by hand at 3AM. Management came in later like, “Hey, how’s it looking back here?” Like we weren’t drowning in boxes.
It’s wild how stores can still open and look semi-put-together when it feels like everything was one step from collapsing overnight. Shoutout to anyone who’s been there. You know.

She told me she appreciates the work that I do and she also said that people like her need people like me. It was one of the best interactions with a customer so far in my career (if not the best). I just wish the number of beautiful people like her grow and grow because we need them more than they need us.

At the end of the day, no matter what I do and how perfectly I do it, I will receive no flowers for doing it and no one even will notice my work and appreciate it. Also, there are certain people who are close friends with their coaches and team leads and they get all the recognition and appreciation for their “hard work”. I’m really tired of all the unfairness that this place offers every single day. Being a walmart associate isn’t easy, and being a walmart associate who works hard is the worst. I keep asking myself why? Why do I keep showing up and give my best knowing what I know? I guess that’s just who I am as a person and that’s what I do no matter what.

I have no idea what to put as a title for this post but I have a weird story about a weird associate. There is this backroom associate and apparently he starts his shift earlier than anyone in the store, and according to him, he is the hardest working person in the store. I don't have any problem with him thinking that. What I have problem with is the fact that he uses the break room as his bedroom and every single day he tries to sleep there. Especially on the lunch time and he gives he^l to anyone who is trying to speak or watch something. I don't know what the he^l is wrong with him but everyone in the store is fed up with him. I will never understand his behavior.

At one point, a soda pallet collapsed and rolled cans under every shelf. Took 40 minutes just to clean that up, and right after that I got pulled to backup. Came back and half my freight was gone—restocked by someone in the wrong aisles.
No one was communicating. Claims was short, apparel was behind, and every five minutes it was “hey can you check this real quick?”
By the end of the night I was dizzy, covered in dust, and still had to close out a damaged pallet report. Shift ended. Truck wasn’t done. Just another overnight where survival was the only goal.
... read moreI’ve been a department manager for years over TLE, (automotive). When my title changed to team lead a couple years ago, I did not get a pay increase like the others did in 2020, when team lead became active for the first time. But if I were to step down due to family issues I’ll lose 10% in pay. A pay I didn’t not receive to be a team lead. How is that fair? When I became department manager years and years ago I may of received $1 to $1.50 . It's been so long ago, I don't remember. But it definitely wasn't $2. I understand losing some pay due to less responsibilities but I didn’t receive the $2 raise like other DM’s did to step up to become TL’s. I have many many years as department manager and team lead experience. I will still bring my experience with me in any position I do. But I don’t think I should lose nearly $3 an hour. I don’t think it was fair they just changed my title from DM to TL with no pay increase.

I get it, gross misconduct is a big deal, but seriously, there's a massive difference between accidentally forgetting to pay for a peach and intentionally pocketing cash from the register. Yet, they're treating both situations with the same severity, and it's just not fair.
... read moreI’ve worked at Walmart for over three years, and I’ve seen lots of changes. Some were good, some not so much but I’ve never seen any employee ideas actually get used. Every day, my coworkers come up with good ways to improve things like how we work, and help customers and even boost morale. We’re the ones on the floor, seeing what works and what doesn’t but when we share ideas, it feels like no one listens. For example a few months ago some of us suggested changing the electronics section to make it easier for customers to find stuff and avoid crowds. We even offered to help set it up after our shifts. Management just smiled, said okay, and then did nothing. So the problems are still there, with customers getting frustrated. I know not all ideas are great, but that’s no reason to ignore them all. If Walmart took even some of our suggestions seriously, I think it would be a much better place.
... read moreWorking OGP Walmart is the most unbalanced job you can find at Walmart. Sometimes you start your shift with a positive atmosphere in the store where almost everyone is energic and in a good mood because they have nothing to stress about. No crazy number of orders in the first hour, everyone is working carefully and helping each other perfectly. Ideal OGP Walmart world where everyone lives happily and easily. There is unfortunately a flip side to that coin. And I lived through the chaos of OGP Walmart once again and I realized that no matter how much I work for this place in this department, I never get used to it. It's a low budget, high affect horror film in 4k. You start your shift with 30 orders in the first hour and you already know it's a sh^t show. Associates fighting and yelling over some bullsh^t, Team Lead demanding more and more, and in the middle of all of this, imagine the poor you just got your first order and trying to find the specific brand of yogurt that no one in the store knows where it is while trying to escape absurd questions from both the customers and fellow associates. That was me yesterday. I was the 'poor you' in this story. I don't know if you know this but there is an unwritten rule at OGP Walmart that I bet almost every associate knows: once you get an order on your device, the time clock starts ticking faster and faster for no fu^^ing reason and yesterday was no different for me. While I was on the search for the stupid yogurt that was ordered by a stupid customer, I was racing against the time, and as you can imagine I was in an extreme hurry. I didn't know what I was seeing, doing, saying, or anything, I was just looking for that damn yogurt and when you are focused on this one thing when you are in a panic mode, you know nothing good will come out. So nothing good came out. I hit the damn stocker who was moving a pallet of milk and I literally thought I broke my fu^^ing knee. As if that wasn't enough, the pr^^k that I hit was screaming on top of me while I was in pain saying that I almost knocked down the entire pallet of milk, I almost got him in trouble, I almost did this did that bla bla. First off, I don't know why the fu^k would someone get mad over something that would have been happened. It didn't happen you fu^^ing id^^t, move on with your life. Isn't it a good thing for you that I actually didn't get you in trouble by knocking down a pallet of milk? Instead, I almost broke my knee. So why are you screaming like a baby? Anyway. This happened yesterday and I can tell you my knee still hurts from that and I carried on like a fu^^ing gladiator like anyone would give me a medal or something. This morning, it was another chaotic time and nature was not on my side either. I was loading up an order to a customer's car and a type of rain that I have never ever and I mean EVER seen in my life started to fall down from the sky all of a sudden. Do you know what the customer did? She just got into her car and left me with all of her groceries. While I was loading sh^t tons of items into her trunk and also trying not to get wet in the rain that was abnormal, she was telling me what item I should be putting, like in what order. I finished loading the items of her majesty and she left. I ran back to the warehouse but it was too fu^^ing late. I was like I went into a pool with my clothes on. I just hope I don't get sick because of this bi^^h. I mean, when I think about it again as I write this post, it was insane. I came across a lot of bi^^hy customers but this one was another level. This was topnotch. This was the Michael Jordan of Karens. I guess it's better to call her the Michelle Jordan of Karens. Anyways folks. As you can see it's NOT easy to be an OGP Walmart associate. May God help all of the Walmart associates but I just hope that he helps the ones who are working at OGP Walmart a little more.

Being a part of a company that caters to millions of customers globally has really opened my eyes to the potential ripple effect of my work. It's not just about stocking shelves or punching in numbers at the cash register; it's about how those small tasks contribute to something much bigger.
Every day, I interact with people from all walks of life. From the elderly couple who come in for their weekly groceries to the single mom trying to stretch her budget, I see firsthand how our services impact their lives. And let me tell you, it's humbling.
Sure, Walmart might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's something undeniably fulfilling about knowing that my efforts are making a difference, however small it may seem. Whether it's helping someone find what they need or simply offering a friendly smile, I've come to realize that even the smallest gestures can have a significant impact.
