They need to do better

If I’m a hard worker who works all day to improve this place's function, and I still receive little or no recognition from management, why would I keep working hard? At the end of the day, no matter what I do and how perfectly I do it, I will receive no flowers for doing it and no one even will notice my work and appreciate it. Also, there are certain people who are close friends with their coaches and team leads and they get all the recognition and appreciation for their “hard work”. I’m really tired of all the unfairness that this place offers every single day. Being a walmart associate isn’t easy, and being a walmart associate who works hard is the worst. I keep asking myself why? Why do I keep showing up and give my best knowing what I know? I guess that’s just who I am as a person and that’s what I do no matter what.

Hey, year 17 associate here. This is the exact reason why the productivity at Walmart is at an all time low.

Everybody is incredibly busy to appreciate the work that you do but when you fu^k up something, they will be right there to scream at your face that you fu^^^d up.

Nobody will tell you that you fu^^^d up as long as you have a good relationship with "them"

The working culture that's been set by the management in walmart is one of the worst in America if not the worst. I worked at 4 different jobs before and this one is the one that all the lazy people in America gathered around to work. Walmart is in serious trouble and there is nothing they are doing about it.

It's never as bad as you guys say. If every store were like this and everybody had the same experience as you do then yeah, walmart would be in serious trouble but since they are working pretty fine, that means not every store is like yours and not everybody is having the same experience as you guys do. So I don't know why everyone is talking like they know what's going on in every single walmart store but here we are. Another walmart associate spreading negativity for no reason.

I agree. The working culture at the store is specific to that store. Yes walmart has a system and rules for everyone to follow but the sm your tl and coaches are responsible for making sure you are working hard as much as you can. So if you have a terrible tl, you will have associates who are not working very hard. That's just how it goes.

That's why walmart has to do a better job of checking and monitoring the performances of their micro managers.

Believe me life would be easier for everyone if they were doing a better job at that.

That's never gonna happen tho. What are they going to do, have the regional manager come up to the store every two days? I think before that, they need to solve the problem before it even starts. They just need to do a better job at hiring for these positions in the first place.

That's also something very hard to do because no matter how good your resume is or how good you answered the questions in your job interview, nobody will know your true work ethic until the moment you start working.
