They need to hear their associates

I’ve worked at Walmart for over three years, and I’ve seen lots of changes. Some were good, some not so much but I’ve never seen any employee ideas actually get used. Every day, my coworkers come up with good ways to improve things like how we work, and help customers and even boost morale. We’re the ones on the floor, seeing what works and what doesn’t but when we share ideas, it feels like no one listens. For example a few months ago some of us suggested changing the electronics section to make it easier for customers to find stuff and avoid crowds. We even offered to help set it up after our shifts. Management just smiled, said okay, and then did nothing. So the problems are still there, with customers getting frustrated. I know not all ideas are great, but that’s no reason to ignore them all. If Walmart took even some of our suggestions seriously, I think it would be a much better place.

I agree. However, the One Best Way policy always wins. I offered to talk to new hires about shrink and its effects years ago and was met with indifference. Just know that at least you tried to help....
