I’m an OGP worker and I just transferred to a different store. In my previous store, headphones were allowed. I always listen to podcasts and some music, and add a little bit of audiobooks there, you know what I’m saying? I was happy. It didn’t even feel like I was working. sh^t from management didn’t bother me, coworkers being morons didn’t bother me, so it was really really good. But when I came to my store, I was shocked. Headphones aren’t allowed and it’s crazy to me that people are able to work without listening to something they like. When I talked with my coworkers about it, some whined about it, but most seemed to be ok with it. I honestly can’t stand this rule. I wish I had asked them about it before I started. Now I regret changing my store.
Some people get distracted with headphones on and can’t perform at their best. So it’s fair to ask them not to wear it.
And some don’t get distracted, what’s your point? It’s not fair to punish everyone because of a few people’s mistakes.

It’s one of the most stupid rules I’ve seen in Walmart. They don’t even allow people to put one piece of earphone in their ear. I can hear you, your problem is solved. Can I listen to my podcast in peace now?
