Why am I not surprised?

New Jersey fines Walmart over in-store pricing practices Walmart, the world's largest retailer, has agreed to pay $1.64 million to settle regulatory charges that its 64 New Jersey stores employed illegal pricing practices that made it hard for consumers to comparison-shop. https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/new-jersey-fines-walmart-over-in-store-pricing-practices-11718736942147.html

That’s how WM rolls. They will pay the fine and continue with the same practice at other locations and earn even more money.

I counted, and there are about 20 larger WM stores in the NJ area. I think those stores combined earn a he^l of a lot more money in one day than the amount of the fine that was issued. So the principle is simple: operate like that for some time, earn extra profit, pay the fine, and then shift those shady operations to other areas.
