To all you lovely people shopping at Walmart: If you're at the store and need help opening those bags, just ask. Me or any other cashier will gladly lend you a hand, sparing you from the embarrassment of licking fingers in public, and the rest of us from dealing with a possible source of bacteria which we would very much like to avoid.
Oh, please. Don't just blame it on the customers. I've seen enough cashiers licking their fingers too.
I dont agree
Why do some people lick their fingers before handing cash to the cashier?
Does anyone else cringe when someone licks their fingers and then starts counting out their money to hand it over? I've actually started telling people to stop because, hello, GERMS! It's that time of year when all the nasty bugs are floating around. I do NOT want to touch your sp^t-coated cash.
This one dude literally licked his fingers before touching each bill as he pulled them out of his wallet. They were all sticky from his saliva. I straight up refused to take them. He was pretty annoyed. I would have ended up in trouble if he made a big deal out of it, but he was chill and paid with a card.
my grandpa always licks his fingers when handling playing cards, and we've never been able to get him to quit. after a few months, the cards seriously start feeling greasy, but for him and his buddies, it's totally normal.
omg that’s crazy haha. my math teacher handed me back my test once, and I could see where her wet finger had left a mark on the top of the page. so gross, dude
there was this 20/20 show about health food violations caught on camera, and they had a video of a grill working at a fast food jo^^t and she was licking his fingers before grabbing a slice of cheese for each burger he made. one slice of cheese, one lick. she wins this tournament...
Sealing envelopes? Anyone? Gross!!!!!!
it's common to need more grip between your finger and paper or plastic. depending on where you live having dry fingers that cant handle paper well is a big or small problem, the problem is big enough that they actually make products to moisten your fingertips (instead of licking them) so that tells you the problem is real, some folks have to lick but IMHO its still EXTREMELY gross .
ok, i am a li^^^r. i'll admit it, and sorry if it grosses you out. but we all know moisture helps open produce bags. like, they're fresh off the roll, nobody's touched them. the guy before you just grabbed his bag. so, i just bring my produce bag up to my mouth and kiss it. then i quickly open it, fill it with salad, and look around to make sure no one saw me.

Teaching others about hygiene seems like a waste of time. One can only focus on improving their own actions, such as ensuring they have as little contact with germs as possible.
