I started at Walmart a month ago and one thing that stands out to me is that customers aren't half as bad as I was led to believe. I had this image of having to deal with the trashiest of the trashiest people nonstop. That's so not true. About 95 percent of customers here are perfectly normal folks just going about their day. The other five percent are a mess, but they're the minority. It's a pleasant surprise. I thought I'd hate working here because of customers, but that turned out false. I never would have guessed it, but I actually like my job. Go figure.

So it truly pi^^^s me off that I'm somehow expected to achieve the impossible. Talking to customers takes time! Helping customers takes time! While I'm doing that, I can't be doing anything else. How is that so hard to understand??

Even weirder, I had a woman ask me so many questions about my job and the store itself last week, that if I didn't know better, I'd think Walmart hired a secret shopper for our store (they're too cheap for that). Are people really that lonely that they have to talk to us to get any kind of meaningful human interaction?

You have been using this machine for years Not days, not months, years It shouldn’t be this hard to get familiar with it no matter what age you are! If you are not satisfied with self-checkout bullsh^t, I have another one for you. The other day, this customer asked me if a register is closed or not. After seeing the lane closed sign. Okay like you are not the best with self-checkout but do you not know how to read??
