What is PPTO

There are lots of new associates that don't know what PPTO is. At Walmart, PPTO stands for Protected Paid Time Off. It’s basically the time you can use when you’re sick or have an emergency, and the best part is, they can’t count it against you. If you’ve got enough PPTO in your bank, you won’t get hit with an attendance issue. The thing is, not everyone knows how it works. Some people let their PPTO pile up, thinking they’re saving it for a rainy day, but then they forget to actually use it when they need it most. It’s honestly one of the better policies Walmart has, especially if you’re dealing with unexpected situations.
