Several people have warned me not to stand out, because excelling at work can get you in serious trouble. That sounds weird, right? Why would anyone get punished for that?
It's pretty unfair, but it seems like the only people who get in trouble are the ones who give their all.
They might also stop you from requesting a transfer. Happened to me.
this is to all who need a job. find it elsewhere, walmart is not a place to start a career, it ends careers. if you want minimum wage and like to work like a dog, this is that place. a place that makes you pay for all benefits, only gives bonuses if they feel like it, but gives headaches for free. they have lost sight of what we are here for, the public trust. walmart, stop trying to be amazon and stay in your space. you are driving what was a good company into the ground fast, pull your head out of your a-- and fix it now. me, only 4 years in and glad it's not my career.
i'd stand out - sc^^w it. there is no reason to hide, do your best always and if others dont like it so be it. do your thing, do the best you can do no matter what you need to do and it'll serve you good in life. do not calculate just plow through things, kick it out of the ballpark and who cares about people who dont like you. my two cents, this approach never failed me

Are you a glutton for punishment? The only thing you'll get as a 'thank you' is more work. And then some more. And once you're doing that on a daily basis, you'll be getting even more. And so on. Being average is the smart thing to do here.
