Start by fixing your own yard

What I’ve come to realize recently is that it isn’t Sam’s fault that your TL su^ks. It’s not Sam’s fault your request for a day off got rejected. It’s also not Sam’s fault that your manager is taking 2 hour long breaks. It’s hard to run that big chain of stores and their only resort is to place faith in the management of every local store. They expect them to be a role model for you and to fight for you and your rights. They just got fooled and thought they were putting the right people to lead. Blame all your problems on them. On your local management. Force them to treat you better. Force them to comply with the rules. Remember: if you want a change, start from your own yard. I hope that I at least startled your thoughts.

You actually make a really good point, it's easy to blame corporate but most of the issues we face daily come from bad local management.

Such a refreshing perspective. Thanks for highlighting this as it's a crucial reminder that change starts from within.
