It’s always been chaotic through the past two years I’ve been working at Walmart but lately it’s become so bad I sometimes literally wanna start crying from anger. Literally every week for the past few months I’m getting my shifts changed up at the last minute. Example: I make a plan with my friends, book the motel, get all hyped up, and bo^m here goes a reality check - my schedule gets changed - I HAVE TO WORK. I missed a shitload of parties, family gatherings, and birthdays. It's not like I'm a bad associate either, I always show up on time, work hard, and I rarely call in sick, but it feels like they have zero respect for my time outside of work.
The best advice I can give is to be on par with your manager. If you know you need certain days off, tell them as far in advance as possible and follow up with reminders. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it definitely helps.

It's like they think we don't have lives outside of Walmart. I've started documenting every shift change and how it affects my plans and I'm planning to bring it up with HR to try and see if that helps.
