It's kind of amusing how people approach the idea of sams careers. They think it's some kind of secret society. You’d think there’s an initiation ritual or something, but really it’s just a job. I’ve noticed a lot of my coworkers stress about climbing the ladder here. They act like every little promotion is the key to happiness. I mean, sure, moving up can be nice, but at the end of the day, it’s still just retail. I clock in, do my thing, and leave it all behind when I walk out the door. The training process is another thing people make such a big deal about. It’s pretty straightforward, but you'd think they were preparing for a NASA mission the way some folks talk about it. Meanwhile, I’m just trying to remember where the cleaning supplies are stocked. And I can't understand people who feel like they need to constantly compete with each other for positions because I get it, everyone wants to advance, but watching the office politics unfold is just exhausting. You can practically feel the tension in the air when someone gets a promotion. At the end of the day, it’s just a job. Some days are better than others, but I think we all need to remember that there’s life outside of Sam's careers.
