There you go, a memo by Donna and no more remote work - it's chaotic and many folks are panicking... Here is the full memo: >It has been a little over four years since we faced the global pandemic that reshaped our lives in many ways, including our ways of working. In February 2022, we made the decision to bring Home Office associates back into our campus offices. We believe that being together, in person, makes us better and helps us to collaborate, innovate and move even faster. We also believe it helps strengthen our culture as well as grow and develop our associates. >With the goal of bringing more of us together more often, we are asking the majority of associates working remotely, and the majority of associates within our offices in Dallas, Atlanta, and our Toronto Global Tech office, to relocate. Most relocations will be to our Home Office in Bentonville, but some will be to our offices in the San Francisco Bay Area or Hoboken/New York. >In addition, some parts of our business have made changes that will result in a reduction of several hundred campus roles. While the overall numbers are small in percentage, we are focused on supporting each of our associates affected by these changes. >We have had discussions with associates who were directly impacted by these decisions. We will work closely with them in the coming days and months to navigate the best path forward.
lucky them. having to move to arkansas, uproot their entire lives, and what guarantee do they have of even keeping their job?
They could have reduced expenses in other areas instead of spending millions on a new home office with a large gymnasium and two daycare buildings. Sure, those are nice perks, but now they’re eliminating corporate employees. It seems like priorities are a bit skewed when you heavily invest in amenities yet decide to lay off and relocate hundreds of workers. To me, that’s poor planning and poor executive management. They didn’t consider how this might affect the bottom line. It just stinks.
I worry that a huge, well-capitalized company is considering cutting people and services that can benefit most Americans. How can we convince management that these actions shouldn't always result in maximum profit?
she has no heart, so dry
the whole thing is bad but the severance is good if you decide not to move, it could have been much worse, so it's ok. the execs take care of themselves first, the company comes second and the worker is the last one. but, i can say that they were fair with severance stuff
donna cares only about donna
all of them r like this

oh great, another brilliant move by the execs. laying off and relocating hundreds of workers cause aparently making people uproot their lives is the best way to handle things... well, the majority of employees who were working remotely or in offices outside arkansas are now being asked to MOVE!!!!! because that's what everyone wants – to be forced into a major life change without any real choice.
armies of folks from dallas, atlanta, and toronto have to pack up and head to the glorious HO. but don't worry, some lucky ones get to move to that dump of SF or Hoboken. gotta love it and accept it asap...
and let's not forget the cherry on top: a reduction of several hundred campus roles - this just means "you're fired!!!" ---it's all for the greater good of bringing everyone back to the office post-COVID. cause nothing says productivity like a mandatory move across the fu^^ing country.
of course they had to drop this mega bombshell just days before their earnings report so they can make even more money. it's all abou the timing so they say or that's probably what they teach them in the MBA school for the elite... and let's not forget the closure of 50+ health clinics and all the associated layoffs --- another stellar decision, all for the customer, associate, etc... trying to cut hahahah...
we're just the cogs in the walmart machine, so i guess we just have to accept it - thanks for always putting us first, walmart. really feeling the love here...
peace out
