A coworker was so excited to tell me he saw a raccoon at our store but didn't do anything about it. Apparently, "they're cute and harmless." I'm sure he'd feel the same way if he couldn't drink water again because he got rabies from a raccoon bite. I swear, sometimes I feel like I'm surrounded by idiots.
Did anyone even bother to call animal control?
Cute or not, the store is not a place where a raccoon should run freely. Maybe it won’t bite you, but it may take sh^t on the groceries and infect someone who buys them. The correct procedure is to notify animal control. It’s the right thing to do for the customers, for the employees and for the animal. Anything else is plain irresponsible.
Any updates? What happened to the raccoon in the end?
No more sightings, at least so far.
