Playing favorites at work

Despite working hard and trying to advance my career it feels like I'm constantly hitting a brick wall. Our store managers are playing favorites and demoralizing the sh^t out of me. There are only a few associates who get any sort of opportunities for advancement or recognition and these "chosen few" are always the ones getting the best shifts and promotions. Meanwhile, the rest of us are doing the dirty work and getting none of the credit. It's so lousy to see the biggest slackers getting ahead while we are stuck in the same position no matter how hard we work. I've tried talking to management about this, but they always have some excuse. Right now, it feels like I'm stuck in a dead-end job and the only way out is a new job somewhere else.

If it’s true that you are a good worker as you say you are you could not go unrecognized. Stop wasting time complaining here and work on yourself 🙂

I work without any aspirations to advance my career so I’m okay here, but for you it might be time to start looking for opportunities elsewhere where your efforts will be valued and rewarded.

maybe you should look into transferring to another store. I didn't find a good fit for me until my 4th store.
