i was told to transition my projects. I did. Two hours later, I got remote-wiped like a defective device. No access. No goodbye. No handoff. Just silence. It’s not just cold-it’s insulting. Like we were never people, just line items with pulse rates. And they wonder why morale is lower than their share of domestic sourcing... Many got hit and it's brutal, i cannot explain how bad it feels
I laughed out loud when i was told i had till friday to transition my projects from a director I didn't know existed till that morning with the nerve to wear a walmart truckers hat to the end to a 25 year career. A heartless interaction with a stranger and corporate speak in a pdf followed by transition website I still can't get into. I stopped idolizing my job and ISD/Walmart Tech years ago as I watched other coworkers go through the same. I still pulled my weight, completed my work provided value way over my pay. But heck no im not working one minute more after that interaction. I spent the week watching vendors, business customers, and coworkers asking where I am and what do to. Millon dollar contracts and projects with no clear replacement for me and apparently no replies from my leaders. Going to miss a few people but heartless is the exact way to describe 90% of Tech leaders and the sheep that thrive there now.
I was asked to transition until Friday as well. I asked if I was being laid off on Friday and the answer was no. That must of been something HR left in the message by mistake. So I went home and never returned.

yep, same here. i was asked to clean up documentation, hand over everything like a good soldier, and right after that, bo^m... dead laptop, no network, no ping, nothing. no thanks, no follow-up, just a quiet little corporate disappearance. they treat people like assets until the moment they don't need them, then act surprised when morale collapses.
