I recently had to take a medical leave for a few weeks due to a health issue, and now when I’m back at work it feels like I’m being punished for taking the time off. Ever since I returned, my managers have been up my a^s constantly. They're always scolding me and telling me to pick up the pace or do more work. It’s like they think I was just slacking off during my leave. I’ve always been a hard worker, and I genuinely enjoy my job, but this is starting to really get to me. I’m still not 100% back to my old self physically, and the added stress isn’t helping. I’ve tried talking to my managers about it, but they just brush me off and say that everyone needs to pull their weight.
It doesn't make it normal tho.
talk to your store manager about this, it could be an example of retaliation for not being there, I've seen it before.
now imagine what happens if you quit - he'll have to find a replacement and if you are a great associate that's going to be hard to find a replacement.
that manager is just stupid, you should always treat good people with respect and try to help them. but cannot fix stupid...
That sounds horrible. People are not satisfied with their own lives and just jealous of you having the time off, even though everyone would rather work 2x more than usual than having health problems like you did.
Well did you take more time than needed and how serious is the injury? We don’t know all the details so don’t expect us to comment on your situation, you could also be in the wrong.
