Hello everyone! I started to work at my local Walmart 2 weeks ago. I work as a cashier and it’s NOT going well. Almost all of the cashiers are new around here. The longest working associate was hired 2 months ago. So we are not experienced and we need help. Unfortunately, there is none. Not from the Team Lead, not from the Store Manager, nobody there to help. That poor girl who’s been hired 2 months ago is trying to help everyone, but she doesn’t know a lot of things either. So, as a result, it’s really a mess and it’s really stressful to deal with customers who think you are not doing your job.
Don’t expect any help from managers. They are just there to yell at you for something you clearly don’t know how to do because they didn’t bother to teach you.
That’s not fair!
You’re a cashier, my friend. Not a rocket scientist. It shouldn’t be this hard to figure it out on your own.
Apparently you have never been a cashier. It's not just running things across the scanner. I think it is one of the hardest jobs in Walmart. They are captive in their cubicle with people who are angry at everything and everyone. But they keep scanning and smiling the whole time. It's the one job at Walmart I would never attempt to do.
