It's all about the small things

You know what makes me happy? When unruly kids actually listen to you. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Usually when I see a kid messing up a display or playing with items that should not be played with or doing whatever else they're not supposed to be doing, if I tell them to stop, they'll cue the waterworks or just ignore me. But on a rare occasion when a kid not only stops but apologizes, it makes my day. What can I say, I see so many cr^ppy things throughout the day that a small thing like this helps make it all bearable.

Kids like that exist???? All the ones I am forced to interact with at my store only help destroy my faith in humanity.

I always hate it when parents leave their kids out of their sights

Depends on the parent too - I have three kids, they are 24, 18 and 14 - they know what to do and act acordingly, I worked on this as all kids tend to be a bit too 'active'... Dont lose hope, just work on it and it's us who need to fix this but there will always be bad apples, still, we can make things better. My 14yo was in a store the other day and saw some portabella mushrooms left in the meat fridge, she took the bag and gave it to an associate - it's a small act but it helps a lot, the associate was so happy, again, it's a small act but things add up. We need to work on it but kids will be OK

People often complain, but I believe that most parents do a decent job when raising children.
