You know what makes me happy? When unruly kids actually listen to you. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Usually when I see a kid messing up a display or playing with items that should not be played with or doing whatever else they're not supposed to be doing, if I tell them to stop, they'll cue the waterworks or just ignore me. But on a rare occasion when a kid not only stops but apologizes, it makes my day. What can I say, I see so many cr^ppy things throughout the day that a small thing like this helps make it all bearable.
A well-behaved kid in a store? That’s rarer than finding an item actually in stock.
Maybe if parents actually parented, this wouldn’t be such a rare event.

Totally get this. A little bit of respect and good behavior can really turn a bad day around.
