I don't know if that's just my luck or what, but I've had to deal with so many rude, filthy, inconsiderate, lying, and whatnot customers lately that they are making me resent the entire human race. I'm starting to think that everybody is an a^^hole and that there are no redeeming qualities to being human. I think I need to find a job that will have zero human interaction to preserve my sanity.
I have learned to deal with people during my 10 year tenure here, so I personally don’t have any problem facing the things you’re facing. On the other hand I’ve seen a lot of people crack as they can deal with these things only for so long. My honest advice would be: If it’s hurting you in any way, for the love of God leave. It’s only a job, only one of many in this world.

I can exactly feel your burnout. Working with customers can make a person feel like that. A piece of advice: Retail or not, you need to be looking for a job that’s not customer facing, at least for some time.
