Remind me again who's brilliant idea was it to get rid of department managers?
You're absolultey right
Sad but true
Years on, it still boggles the mind, doesn't it? I'm yet to find one advantage the current system has compared to the old one.
The worse idea was eliminating so many staff to the point that almost all departments are without associates for most of the day, it makes thing chaotic...
but, but, but... now you can lunch with the store manager
things keep going downhill. recently, the night manager insisted that I cap all the produce bins and update the onhands any that does not got out and all of this was happening at 9pm, oh well.. she even dared to say I couldn’t leave until it was finished because we were expecting company. After exchanging some heated words, I left at 10:15 or so.
You can’t just slap some cheap duct tape over numerous problems and hope for an instant solution, especially when you ignore your employees' input.

The decision was obviously made by somebody from corporate who never set foot in a store and has no idea what we do and how we do it.
