I hate when I'm the only one on schedule
I can deal with having to do everything on my own, but what I hate is constantly being pulled to OPG or wherever else and then getting completely backed up with my own work. This is driving me insane! Either schedule more people or leave me alone to do what I'm supposed to be doing. Stop making me do other people's jobs at the cost of my own.
Well If I were in your shoes I would politely refuse, with the explanation that you have too much of your own work and that you won’t be able to complete it if your given additional work that should be done by someone else. That will usually do the trick. When you are quiet your boss thinks you’re OK with it.
Trust me it doesn’t do the trick. The explanations are always the same. It’s only for a short while, given that we are understaffed. If we take into account the fact that we’re always understaffed, that means it will always be that way.

Been there. For a while, I felt like I was the only one picking up the slack. That was until I decided to turn over a new leaf. All I can say is that taking care of yourself is just as important as doing a good job, so don't be afraid to set boundaries and let others step up as well.
