A few people I know who have worked for the company longer in other stores are like voice recording her every time she comes and says something because they know she can't do what she's saying. She also keeps threatening our jobs by saying we don't do anything when the majority of us are busy every single day at work. These people know she must be lying about the store manager, claiming she said some things because she doesn't want to take responsibility.

sometimes i hate my manager too, but... most managers are hard working people who want to make things right. they have been in our shoes as well, so they know how hard it is for us as well. but they do have a job to complete and sometimes they do not have time to make it right for everybody, so they get terse or whatever. i totally understand where you are coming from but i also know that it's hard for managers as well.

has anyone else noticed how some managers just change for the worse once they get a fancy title...

It's like they think it gives them a free pass to do whatever they want, professionalism be damned. There's this one boss who's always out for a smoke break every half hour and seems obsessed with catching anyone who slips up just to flex their authority. It feels like a lot of them have this control freak vibe and a bit of a narcissist streak, making it super hard to even want to approach them. And get this, we've got a 22-year-old assistant manager who acts like he's got the whole world figured out - questioning or challenging him is like asking for trouble. So now, we're all just going through the motions, doing the absolute minimum.

I've come across several posts discussing bad-bad-bad management practices, but I feel fortunate with my own management folks. i was supported through the process with Sedgwick when my mom passed away and lived up to their promises. For that I thank them they are just sooo very cool!
