Are Sam's Clubs better than Walmart?
I've been working at Walmart for two years and I've hated every minute of it. I recently applied for a position at Sam's Club and I have my interview next week. I'd just like to know, since it's basically the same company, are employees treated any better at Sam's? I don't want to change jobs and find myself in the same situation I'm in here. I'd rather wait for an opportunity somewhere else and stick with the devil I know until it pops up.

i will take a stab at this even though i am relatively new at sams, this is my first job after high school and i started in january. i am in bullhead city az... working at sam’s club vs a walmart supercenter is like being in two relatively different worlds, even though they’re under the same big company. i've got friends at both, and we always talk about how different the vibes are.
sam’s club is more chill. it's a membership warehouse, so not your typical grocery and goods spot. members pay to shop there, which kinda changes the vibe - quantities are larger - there may be a ton of people shopping with ton of stuff on carts, so we moeve more goods but it's orderly. it’s more laid-back imho (but expecrations are high) and the main theme here is the focus on bulk items. i think there’s less foot traffic than at a supercenter, so it's a bit easier on a busy day.
on the other hand, a walmart supercenter is like the center of a small city. it's busy since it's open to everyone and sells everything from groceries to gadgets. as a cashier, you’re constantly busy with a ton of customers all day, it never stops but this can be the case for sams too. there’s a lot more variety in what happens day-to-day because of the different types of transactions and customer stuff.
the jobs associates do are similar—cashiering, stocking, customer service—but the scale and customer base really change the feel. i am not sure if the benefts are the same, i am assuming they are similar as both are walmart but not sure. so, overall, maybe the pace is different, the customer is different, products are different to an extent.
This is a pretty general question that you’re asking here. You might get different experiences from people,which are good or bad, but I think you will not get a definitive answer that will make your decision easier. I hear that the conditions are slightly better art Sam’s and that the environment is more relaxed, but I guess it all comes down to what your boss is gonna be like, who are you going to be working with, and how are people generally treated at a certain location. In any case, if you “hated every minute of it” like you say, why not give this new job a s^ot.
