Why is training so bad?

Why am I expected to learn most of the things on the go? Is it now too expensive to train new employees?

Realistically it’s not a matter of expenses. A properly trained employee will always pay off that investment in him sooner or later. It’s a matter of cost cutting games played among the management tiers. Some managers always get”brilliant ideas” that the company should cut costs in some segments. That always sounds good to his bosses. Trust me, employee training is always the first to on that chopping block. But look on the bright side, with a few nice coworkers that are willing to show you how things are done, you’ll do just fine.
