What's with all the Costco hate?
I don't get it. Why are so many associates trash talking Costco and its products, among other things? Is it envy? I know I'd be the first to quit Sam's and switch to Costco if I could land a job there. They have better pay, better benefits, and a better work environment. I have no beef with them and I can't understand why anybody would hate them on behalf of this place.
I’ve had such things about Costco, but I don’t think it’s anything more than trash talk. Sort of a rivalry, nothing more than that. I bet each and every one of the people that speak that way would move to Costco in a second if they had even slightly better job conditions then the ones that have at Sam’s.
God knows Sam’s sells the best product’s so it’s no wonder the associates are looking down at Costco.
I'm sure jealousy is a likely contributor. They're better than we are in virtually every possible way, except pricing. All one has to do is go inside one of their facilities and the contrasts become clearly evident. Cleanliness, orderliness, and more than adequate staffing, are all readily apparent. We have one right next door to us and anytime I feel like getting really pi$$ed off about the constant state of chaos that defines our store, I just go over there and walk around. The most frustrating thing is that ten years ago, there wasn't that wide a gap between the two. Now? It's like comparing Kroger and Publix.
