Unfair Work Distribution

Just wanted to vent about something that's been bothering me at work lately. It feels like the higher-ups are taking advantage of certain employees, and I can't shake off the frustration. So, here's the deal: I've noticed a pattern where they consistently give more work to certain individuals, myself included, without any increase in pay. It's like they expect us to do the job of two people while compensating us the same as everyone else. I have two different job codes, and I practically do the same tasks as a Team Lead (TL), minus the actual responsibility of managing other workers. But guess what? I still end up being the one in charge when the TL is out for lunch or absent for any reason. It's just not fair. I'm putting in the effort and taking on extra tasks, essentially doing TL-level work, yet I'm not being recognized or compensated accordingly. Meanwhile, others are coasting along with the same pay despite doing less. Has anyone else experienced something similar at their workplace? How did you handle it? I'd appreciate any advice or solidarity. Thanks for letting me rant.

That sounds incredibly frustrating. It’s unfair when management relies on certain employees to pick up extra work without proper recognition or compensation.

If they won’t compensate you fairly, it might be time to start looking elsewhere

hat’s frustrating, but unfortunately, it happens a lot. If they know you’ll do the extra work without pushing back, they have no incentive to
