The overnight shift that turned into a power outage scramble

Overnight shifts already feel like you’re working in another world, but toss in a power outage and suddenly it’s a survival game. We lost power across half the store at 2AM last night. Lights out, walkies dead, freezers buzzing in panic mode.

Management wasn’t even in the building, and the power company said “it might be a while.” So now we’re scrambling to cover the frozen section, pushing freight in near darkness with flashlights from hardware, and moving pallets by hand because the power jacks were down.

It felt like we were stuck in a zombie movie but instead of survival, we’re trying to protect the chicken nuggets. Power finally came back around 4:30AM, but by then we were behind on everything. Classic overnight chaos.
