Picture this: my buddy at work in the entertainment/electronics scene heads off for lunch, leaving me to man the register. Then bo^m, a customer wants to buy something. All good, right? Nah, they forget their cash or card and bounce. Now, I can't just dip from the register, 'cause I've been told off for that before. So, I'm stuck there, twiddling my thumbs, calling out on the loudspeaker for help, but no dice. None of the folks passing by with their stuff have the codes to help either. This mess caused a real headache when another customer wanted something locked up tight. I tell her straight up, ""Hey, I'm stuck here with register troubles, can't step away for a bit."" And what does she do? Flips her lid, starts hurling curses my way. I'm telling you, it's enough to drive you bonkers. How hard is it to sort out a simple transaction, huh? One person forgets their dough, and it throws my whole shift into a tailspin. It's wild, man. What the heck am I supposed to do about it?
