Phishing texts

Does anybody actually fall for phishing texts that ask you to claim your Walmart store credit? I just got one and it's so obviously a scam that I can't believe somebody would actually click on the attached link. Then again, would these texts be a thing if nobody did it? I'm genuinely curious how people can see something like this and think "Yay, free $500!" and not "This is ridiculously too good to be true."

i do sometimes.

That’s usually happens that I’m on the phone and if I’m in a rush

i got an email that looked like it was from my bank, but it had lots of spelling mistakes. i didn’t notice because i was in a hurry and clicked the link. the email started with "dear customer" instead of my name, but i didn’t think about it. the address looked kind of right, so i didn’t check. the logo was blurry and the colors were wrong, but i was too worried about my account to care. the email said my account would be locked in 24 hours because of suspicious activity, so i clicked the link to "verify your account." on the fake website, i entered my social security number, account number, and password, thinking i was keeping my account safe. the website address seemed almost right. then it asked me to download a "security update tool," so i did, not knowing it was bad software. by the time i realized something was wrong, my bank account was hacked and my personal info was in danger. oh well... it took forever to remove this from my credit reports. Be careful and stay safe.!!

I rarely make mistakes - I did click on phishing links a few times. I was in a meeting with my boss, we were working on something and I got a file sharing link and I was expecting something from here and I clicked. Really??? The phishing thing came in just as we were collaborating and I was expecting stuff from her, that's bad luck but it did happen. I was rushing and I should have caught it had I slowed down as I always do, never rush to click anything.

I don’t click on any link that I’m not familiar with, especially things like that. When something is too good to be true it usually is.
