Not getting any days off

I’m incredibly frustrated with how Walmart handles my time-off requests. It feels like they instantly reject them right away without even considering them every time I put in for a day off. It doesn’t even matter to them if it’s something important like a doctor’s appointment or if it’s just a normal rest day. Also, it’s not like I’m asking for every third day off or anything crazy, I literally filed for days off three times in the one year I’m working. If it were a universal problem, I wouldn’t be writing here but I noticed other people getting days off without any problems. This made me honestly consider looking for another job because this is just getting ridiculous.

I had the exact same problem. I swear it’s like they prioritize certain employees over others. What I started doing was documenting every time I put in a request and every time it was denied. Eventually, I brought it up to HR with all the evidence, and it actually helped. They didn’t fix everything overnight, but it got a bit better, so maybe try that?

What I personally discovered is that my chance for having a day off approved is a lot higher when I mention it face-to-face after requesting it. People are always more accommodating when talked to in person.
