I absolutely love it when they bring a new store manager in our store and after some short time passes, all of a sudden, all of his friends have become managers. Every. Single. Time. How do we expect our government not to be corrupt when we ourselves are.
It’s really hard to stay motivated when you see people getting ahead just because of who they know, rather than what they’ve earned..
Just like you’ve said, it’s like a small-scale version of the corruption we see in politics. No wonder people lose faith in the system.
You’d think companies would learn over time that this kind of favoritism hurts morale and productivity. But no, same sh*t happens over and over for decades :D
