My advice to the company
When you're summoned to override an associate sticking to company policy at the store level, always ensure you start by acknowledging to both the associate and the customer that they were indeed doing their job, and that you're granting an exception. Lack of employees can really mess with every aspect of the business. But hey, Walmart's upped their minimum hourly rate, aiming to draw in more dedicated workers and hang onto the good ones.
