Give him an inch, and he'll take a mile

There was a day when the majority of the people in my department did not show up to work, for medical or different reasons. What happened that day is that a colleague and I have done work for 6 people all by ourselves. We really gave ourselves so we could finish our shift on time. The day after I have done amazing work as well, not as good as the day before because I didn’t need to, but still great, and still, I caught a side eye from my manager. The next day I went back to my regular work tempo which actually got me called into the office. Unbelievable I swear. You go out of your way so the business doesn’t suffer, and instead of praising you for good work, they begin to have higher expectations from you. Every Walmart manager is ruthless and you can’t change my mind about it.

You learn in life that you should really be in control of how much of your capability and wealth you actually show to people around you because they might start liking you just for it and not for you.

stand up for yourself and tell them that if they expect to have you doing the work of 3 people you want to have salary of 3 people as well

That’s probably just one side of the whole story. Has anyone thought that maybe they just realized how much he was slacking the whole time and want him to do his job as he should?!
