One thing nobody really mentions about working at Walmart is how little responsibility we actually have. It’s a pretty easy job ngl, and you don’t have to stress about it. You show up on time, do the same tasks you’ve been doing forever, then head home and enjoy your day. No dread when it’s time to go in, and you don’t have to think about work once you’re off. It’s a pretty easy job where you can earn decent pay without much hassle.
Definitely at my store. Overall, a model store and we know it and practice at it every day. Disrespect from any level is not allowed. Associates do not openly disregard the various policies or they get canned swiftly and thoroughly. Thus, coaching is at a minimum. A small select group follows the process to a tee but judges the rest too harshly. Occassionally, a short angry outburst can be heard of "wtf? why would anybody do that?" Once it is corrected we move on. Management is professional and knowledgeable and they back each other up, dont like to not have an answer. But, sh*t rolls down hill and mgmt knows ahead of time who can used for what and who they want to promote or hold down. A person just has to figure out where they want to fit in the scheme of things and behave accordingly. Our store stays zoned and the backroom stays picked. All questions are answered unless its about personnel policies. They are subject to interpretation. But, generally if a person complains about work at walmart too loudly, they dont last long. I do not experience most of the negative cr^p people describe on here and I am very grateful for that. All of that being said, on an off day when things are out of sorts, all kinds of f'd up sh*t happens and a person is taken off the schedule as a sacrifice to the Powers That Be. You get out as much as you put in/willing to put up with.
