" I've been at Walmart for 2+ years while doing college through Guild for two. In OPD, our department is overflowing, and I've gone from full-time to part-time despite being a consistent top worker. My role in dispense is crucial, and the numbers prove it. Initially, I was scheduled for only one day a week (approved beforehand), but now, before I've even started under my new availability, I'm being threatened with termination if I don't update it to include weekdays. I complied yesterday, but now they're saying weekends are a must, which clashes with my school schedule. It feels like they're using my schooling against me, knowing I can't just leave since I'm employed here. It's taking a toll on my mental health, especially since I'm already juggling school. Transferring departments might not solve the issue either. I'm pursuing an associate's in cybersecurity, set to finish by summer 2025 (yes, it's taking longer due to part-time schooling). I had plans for a bachelor's, but now I'm contemplating quitting right after graduation. I'm starting to resent this workplace. Despite carrying the workload, they're eager to let me go while favoring inexperienced workers who goof off on their phones."
