Is Walmart career advancement actually possible if you’re not a favorite? I want to move up, but it’s starting to feel like a dead end.
Honestly? It’s not impossible but you gotta be loud about what you want. I kept reminding my TL I wanted to move up and finally got team lead last month. Took 2 years tho.
I feel this so hard. They always say it’s about hard work, but I’ve seen folks promoted for just being friends with the leads. It’s draining.
I tried applying for a position 3 times and didn’t even get an interview. Then someone from another store walks in and gets it. Make it make sense.
I get the frustration. I started as a temp and now I’m a people lead, but I had to fight for every step. If you're serious about moving up, document everything, speak up, and don’t give up. It's tough but not impossible.
