Advice for stockers

Hello everyone. I’m a stocker at Walmart and I started a month ago and as you can imagine I stand basically the whole day. Lately, my feet have been ki^ling ME. Like almost they gave up. I was in constant pain and I was considering leaving the job. I was finally able to find the problem: my shoes. I changed them and I feel much better now. I thought some people might have the same problem and I just wanted to share my experience. Have a nice day 🙂

Improving Stocking Speed

Optimize Your Cart: Pre-Sort: Organize by section and aisle order to minimize backtracking. Heavy Items First: Load heavier items on the bottom for stability. "One-Touch" Rule: Handle each item as few times as possible. Stocking Strategy: Zone Blocking: Instead of stocking an entire aisle, work in smaller sections to reduce travel time. Visual Scan: Quickly scan shelves to identify empty spots before grabbing items from your cart. Shelf-Ready Packaging: Prioritize stocking items that require minimal breakdown. Time Management: Limit Distractions: Avoid unnecessary conversations and breaks. "Lost and Found": If you can't find a product's location within 30 seconds, set it aside and move on. Minimize TC Use: Rely on your knowledge of the store layout and only use the TC for truly difficult-to-find items. Addressing Underlying Issues: Labeling Problems: Report missing or incorrect labels to management. Fast Track/Plugging: If these tasks are slowing you down, discuss potential solutions with your coach. Overlapping Tasks: If other duties interfere with stocking, ask your coach for clarification on priorities. Important Note: While speed is important, accuracy matters too! Damaged products, misplaced items, and incorrect shelf labels can create more work in the long run.

Beyond Speed:

Communication: Talk to your coach! Explain the specific challenges you're facing and ask for concrete advice. Teamwork: If your store allows it, see if you can work with a more experienced stocker to learn their techniques. Self-Assessment: Are there any areas where you might be able to improve efficiency, even if it's just a small adjustment? It's crucial to remember that unreasonable productivity targets can be a sign of a larger problem within the company. If you consistently struggle to meet expectations despite your best efforts, it may be worth considering other employment options.
