Here it goes: Summary: New 1-Minute Increment for PPTO (Paid Sick Leave Locations Only)
Effective Date: April 30
Who is affected: Hourly associates in locations with a paid sick leave law
What’s changing: - Associates can now request PPTO (Protected Paid Time Off) in 1-minute increments instead of 15-minute blocks - This change applies when submitting requests via Global Time & Attendance (GTA) desktop and Me@Sams
Why it matters: - Provides greater flexibility and accuracy for covering time off - Ensures associates can use exactly the amount of PPTO needed
GTA system update: - GTA will auto-authorize attendance occurrences if all missed time is fully covered with PPTO
Note: Regular PTO (not PPTO) requests will still be submitted in 15-minute increments
What Associates Need to Do - Calculate the exact PPTO needed, considering grace periods - Submit the request for the exact number of minutes
What Managers Need to Do - Communicate this change to hourly associates - Help associates understand how much PPTO is needed to protect absences - Refer to the [Management Guidelines for Hourly Paid Time Off Programs] for handling attendance occurrences
There is this associate at my store who caught the flu last week and his a^s is so damn professional, he didn’t use any PTO or PPTO. I mean I don’t even know what is ppto at this point because nobody seems to use them anymore at my store. So anyway, that’s not my main problem, my main problem is that the sick associate who insisted on coming to work no matter what, eventually made other people sick. This mf started a mini pandemic at my store. Everybody started coughing and all that and as far as I know, 3 people had to leave early, other than me. I’m posting this from my bed rn and I feel terrible. I hate everyone who played a part in me to get sick. I cannot express with words how much I hate to get sick but here I am. I can’t even have the power to leave the fu^^ing bed because of the flu which had nothing to do with me. Brother, why was it so hard for you to use the damn PTO? Now you made us all sick because of your stupid obsession with work. I know you have enough PTO to just get the fu^k out of the store for 2 days. So my message is, if you are sick, even if it’s not too hard for you for now, PLEASE stay home. Just because you are having it easy doesn’t mean that other people will have it easy too. Don’t be a selfish fu^k, just stay in.
