The morning rush today was brutal. I was zoning and got called to backup right out the gate. It’s like the entire store showed up at once.

I spent half my shift jumping registers, the other half getting flagged for “quick help” that was never quick. Every time I thought I could go back to zoning, the walkie went off again.

By break, I felt like I’d sprinted a marathon without leaving the front end. Mornings don’t play around.
