Clocked out for lunch, took five steps toward the breakroom, and immediately got flagged: “Hey real quick—can you just help with one thing?” Fifteen minutes later I’m still “helping” and my food’s getting cold. When I finally get back, someone’s already microwaving their fish again. Retail lunch isn’t a break. It’s just a delayed side quest.
